As a part of the project entitled “Promoting Well Being of Destitute Senior Citizens in Mandan Deupur in Kavre District”, a three day long eye camp was organized in KuntaBeshi, Kavre from May 8th to May10th, 2018. The location for the camp was chosen in coordination with Mandan Deupur Municipality as it was the central point for all wards of the municipality. A team of 8 doctors and technicians from Nepal Eye Hospital, 4 staffs and volunteers from RH Reaping Hope and 4 volunteer nurses from Samaj Sewa Samuha were mobilized for the eye camp.
A total of 430 people got their eyes checked and got free medicines. 29 Senior Citizens with Cataract got them removed during the eye camp. Reaping Hope would like to thank Walk for Nepal – Dallas for financial support, Nepal Eye Hospital and the entire team for their technical support, Mandan Deupur Municipality and its staffs for their coordination, Samaj Sewa Samuha for providing us with the venue and all the volunteers for their combined effort for successfully completing the eye camp.
