Why Volunteer?

” If everybody would look after himself, everybody would be looked after’

Unfortunately, not everybody is capable of looking after themselves properly. We offer diverse placement areas, providing you the choice to work in a variety of different fields.

What does this mean for you?

If you are looking for a different kind of holiday, you can consider being a volunteer. There are many organisations who offer this kind of programs. The reasons to participate in such programs are generally the same. Besides doing ‘something good’ for the underprivileged /3rd world countries, many high school or university students want to explore the world. This is an ideal time of life to do a voluntary project abroad. Volunteering overseas can provide them with the change of both pace and scenery that they have been craving, while giving additional skills and work-experience that will make them stand out from the rest of the crowd in job applications and interviews.

You could volunteer on a placement as a start of your travel, spending a few weeks living and working in one of our projects, before packing your bags and seeing what the rest of the region has to offer. And who knows, perhaps your gap year could open new doors and set you down an exciting career path you’d never even considered! Our placements can easily be fit into your plans as a recent graduate too.

Perhaps you are perfectly happy in your chosen career, but just want some time away to explore a particular area of interest. Or even just to help others. Our minimum project length of two weeks means that you can volunteer on one of our projects during paid annual leave – Teachers may even choose to volunteer with us for the whole of their six week summer break. Employers may even be willing to finance some of the costs of a voluntary project, providing there is global benefit in doing so.

Qualified medical professionals such as Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Dentists are also incredibly popular with our partner organisations, because they can really help relieve the heavy workloads in disability centers and old age homes. So if you want to put your skills into practice against a new and exciting backdrop then we would love to have you aboard!

Nepal is a perfect place for this. It’s a beautiful, culturally rich and spiritual country but unfortunately also one of the poorest countries in the world. Your help can truly make a difference.
